The Microfinance Working Group hosts a series of speakers during the year to explore topics such as:

 

  • The alleviation of poverty and supports community development through microfinance strategies
  • The transformation process of non-governmental microfinance organizations into regulated financial institutions
  • Diversification of microfinance products to include savings, insurance, remittances, business advisory services, financial literary training and risk protection
  • Private sector funds available to MFIs
  • Creation and operation of microfinance programs in developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America
  • Monitoring and evaluating MFIs
  • Impact assessment of MFIs
  • Legal structures and management issues from an MFI perspective
